ZWE SERVICES APP

Desnode (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects the privacy of every user (“you”) of the Zwe Services mobile application (the “Application” or “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use the App or visit any web page we operate for customer support (the “Support Site”). IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE APPLICATION OR THE SUPPORT SITE.
We may revise this Privacy Policy at any time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of the App after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
1. SCOPE
This Privacy Policy applies only to:

Zwe Services — a marketplace that lets people in Zimbabwe list and discover goods and services; and

The publicly accessible Support Site that hosts this policy, FAQs and contact details.
It does NOT cover any third-party store (e.g., the Apple App Store), payment gateway, external website, or service you may access via links from the App.

Collected automatically by our servers, cookies and analytics SDKs (Firebase Analytics, Sentry, etc.)
Transaction Data (if you purchase premium features)
• Receipt number, masked payment card details, amount, currency
Supplied by Apple In-App Purchase APIs; sensitive card data is held only by Apple or the payment processor, not by Desnode
Survey & Promotion Data
• Responses you give to contests, surveys or beta-testing programs
Supplied directly by you
We do NOT knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you learn we have unintentionally done so, please contact us and we will delete it.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We process your data — in accordance with Zimbabwe’s Data Protection Act (2021), the EU GDPR (where applicable) and other laws — for the following purposes:

Provide core marketplace features: create an account, publish listings, enable search and buyer-seller messaging.

Verify identity & combat fraud: confirm that phone numbers are valid and detect duplicate or malicious accounts.

Moderate content: review photos and text for spam, illegal items or policy violations.

Improve the App: analyse aggregated usage statistics, diagnose crashes and enhance performance.

Send communications:
* Service messages (password resets, listing updates).
* Optional marketing emails or push notifications (you can opt out at any time). -
Process payments (when you pay for premium placement or other in-App services).

Legal compliance: respond to lawful requests from authorities or enforce our Terms of Use.
We rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR), legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1)(f)), your consent where required (Art. 6 (1)(a)), and compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6 (1)(c)).
4. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

Service providers: cloud hosting (AWS), image storage (Cloudflare Images), analytics (Google & Firebase), email delivery (SendGrid), SMS verification (Twilio). These partners are bound by confidentiality and data-protection agreements.

Payment processors: Apple Payments, PayPal or Stripe when you buy a premium feature. Card details stay with those processors.

Legal or safety reasons: to comply with court orders or to protect users’ rights, property or safety.

Business transfers: if Desnode undergoes a merger, acquisition or asset sale, data may transfer to the successor, subject to this policy.

Public content: anything you post in listings or public comments is visible to all users and may be indexed by search engines.
5. COOKIES & ANALYTICS
We use first-party and third-party cookies, SDKs and similar technologies to:

Remember your login session;

Measure how features are used;
-
Deliver (non-personalised) in-App adverts or promotional banners.
You can disable cookies in your browser, but the App may not function correctly. We do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track (DNT) signals because no common standard exists.
6. DATA RETENTION

Account data: kept while your account is active and for up to 24 months after deletion for fraud-prevention and legal purposes.

Listings & photos: retained for the life of the ad plus 6 months (or longer where required by law).

Logs & analytics: stored in aggregated form for up to 26 months.

7. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Your data may be processed on servers located outside Zimbabwe (e.g., in the EU or the United States). We ensure adequate safeguards via Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on local law, you may:

Access the personal data we hold about you;

Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
-
Delete your account and associated data;
-
Object to certain processing (e.g., direct marketing);
-
Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect prior lawful processing).
To exercise these rights, email us at desnode.cn@gmail.com or use the “Delete Account” option under Settings → Account in the App. We will respond within 30 days.
9. SECURITY

End-to-end TLS encryption in transit;

AES-256 encrypted storage for photos and backups;
-
Role-based staff access, audit logs and two-factor authentication;
-
Automated vulnerability scanning and regular penetration testing.
No system is 100 % secure; you share information at your own risk.
10. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Zwe Services is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly solicit or process data from children under 13. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided us data should email us so we can remove it.
11. DO-NOT-TRACK
Because an industry standard has not been adopted, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. If this changes, we will update this section.
